That Was Hello, This Is My First Post

Hello and this is my first proper post, I suppose.  My previous post was just a hello so you can’t really count that.  However, this posting is going to change your world.  Or perhaps not :)

You can’t really call my last post a post.  I was just saying hello so can’t be counted.  Perhaps I should write something fantastic.  Makes you sit up.  Brings a lump to your throat.

But I’m not sure I can live up to that.  I do apologise but that could be in the next post.  This article, however, is just a bit of an observation.  When you go shopping you see places full of jewellery designed for women.  But women aren’t everyone in the world and there’s about 50% of the population who are men but the amount of jewellery that are for them is tiny, compared to jewellery for ladies.

However, it’s even more of an eye opener when you see the lack of choice for children.  If you are lucky enough to find some pieces for kids and look closely, the quality is not as good and almost like pieces of toys.

I’m talking about the high street shops, however.

On the internet it’s a better situation - you can actually get a choice of good quality pieces of kids jewellery.  And designers are getting more forthcoming by designing whole ranges for children.

When it comes to the actual pieces in the jewellery, it’s thankfully not just cut down and shrunk womens jewellery.  They actually seem to understand what kids like - often pretty, colourful and fun and good enough to catch the eye.  Things that children enjoy.

I’m just hoping that high street shops will start to understand that just because people are young, doesn’t mean they are happy with tacky, low quality choices of jewellery.

Am I living in cloud cuckoo land?

Thanks for reading my rant - it’s appreciated.  The next topic is being thought about - I hope you like it so keep an eye out!

Hi There - My Very First Posting

Thanks a lot for coming along and looking at our new website.

I am just happy to make a spot that I can easily set down my ideas, concepts, inspiration and simply general stuff and nonsense!  The days are gone of pen and paper with regards to your journal - these times it’s all electronic, baby!

Just who am I?  Well, I can say that I’m a student in design and I specialize in jewelry designing particularly in sterling silver which I think is a very striking, tactile material.

My idea is to have a place where i’m able to put info down and also store it for use later.  I often browse about the web and locate places that hold awesome material which inspire me.  Now I’ll be storing the information on these pages so we could get back to it later rather than lose it like I have previously *cough*

Regardless, appreciate your visiting and I also hope you come back again.  I’m always looking for tips so when you have got hints then please, please let me know!

Thanks and all the best, M.

All the best, M.
